As the soft, willowy breeze caressed her dress, she took a deep breath. Her fingers trailed over the velvety, delicate petals, cool against her skin.

Everywhere she looked, the world seemed to have come alive. Soft pastels and bright colours painted the landscape, while blooms appeared almost overnight, as though nature itself had decided it was time for a fresh start.
She smiled.
“Well, hello, Spring.”

The arrival of a new season almost feels like a soft reset.

With a collective yearning to live our soft-life era, perhaps a soft reset is exactly what we need.

Too often, we’re afraid to reinvent ourselves. Afraid to start again. Afraid to take a different path. Afraid of failing, of what people might think, or simply of not knowing what the future holds.

I know I’ve been guilty of it.

For years, I was afraid to share my writing, my humour and my personality with the wider internet. I was afraid of putting myself out there, and if I’m being honest, I was mostly afraid of failing.
I had my page for more than ten years, yet I wasn’t really allowing my authentic self to shine through.
Then I decided to bite the bullet.

And suddenly, I realised something: people actually enjoyed what I had to say.
Sometimes, the biggest thing standing between us and a new beginning is simply the fear of beginning.

Perhaps beginning again doesn’t mean leaving the old version of ourselves behind completely. Maybe it simply means taking everything we’ve learnt along the way and carrying it with us into the next chapter. We don’t have to have everything figured out before we take that first step.

Sometimes, we just need the courage to say, “I wonder what would happen if I tried?”

And maybe that’s the beauty of a new season. It reminds us that change doesn’t have to be dramatic and bold and vibey.

Sometimes, it happens quietly, almost imperceptibly, until one day we look around and realise we’ve bloomed into someone we once only hoped we could become.

Think about Spring. What if it decided it was too afraid to show up? What if it stayed tucked away and we went straight from winter into summer?
We’d miss the transition. The anticipation. The first blooms. The warmer days. That beautiful reminder that something new can emerge after a season of stillness, of silence.

Of course, Spring isn’t without its challenges. For some, it also brings sneezing, itchy eyes and allergies that make us question why we ever wanted flowers in the first place.
So take your allergy medication, take a deep breath and welcome the new season.

Maybe this is your reminder that you don’t need to reinvent your entire life overnight. You can simply start again.

Try something you’ve been too afraid to try. Wear the outfit. Start the project. Share the idea. Change your mind. Take up the hobby. You do you, boo. And do it well.

Give yourself permission to grow into a new version of yourself.

After all, Spring doesn’t apologise for returning in full colour. So neither should we.

And, as we welcome a new season, perhaps it’s time to soft launch our new selves....

XOXO
